Why we built Itabah
Too many Islamic apps had become crowded with advertising, upsells and trackers — turning acts of worship into a funnel. We wanted the opposite: an app that feels like a sanctuary. One place for your prayer times and adhan, the Qibla, the whole Quran with audio and tafsir, hadith, the 99 Names, duʿāʾ, a Hajj guide, a Zakat calculator, and gentle companions for the heart — free, and private.
On ads, and the promise we kept
Itabah launched with no ads at all, and we said so here. That changed in 2026, and you deserve the reason rather than a quiet edit.
The app grew. The AI companions, the nightly reflections, the voice sessions and the media library all cost real money every single day, and a gift that cannot sustain itself eventually stops being a gift. That left two honest options: put ads on the free app, or start charging for the things people actually came for.
We chose ads — and drew a line we intend to keep. Prayer times, the Qibla, the whole Quran with audio and tafsir, the hadith collections, dhikr and every AI companion are free, and are not going behind a paywall. Ads never appear on the AI chat and voice screens, the Halal Check camera, the mosque map, or Kids Corner, and ad content is capped at a general-audiences rating everywhere. If you would rather see none of them, Itabah+ removes every ad for £0.99 a month.
What has not changed, and will not: we do not sell your data, we build no advertising profile about you, and your location never reaches the ad system — it is used to work out your prayer times on your own phone and nowhere else. That was always the real promise. The ads are how we keep it.

Your faith is between you and Allah. No account, no data selling, no profile built about you. Your location and prayer log stay on your device, and are never sent to the ad stack.

The interface is designed to feel like a quiet moment — celestial, unhurried, and free of noise — so the app draws you toward stillness, not away from it.
Rooted in the sources
Quran, hadith, tafsir and duʿāʾ come from respected references, and the AI companions carry guardrails that keep them grounded in the Quran and authentic Sunnah.
Who's behind it
Itabah is built by a small team in their own time as a gift to the ummah. No investors, no data brokers — ads and a £0.99 subscription cover the running costs, and nothing beyond that. Your duʿāʾ is the return we actually care about.
